Tom Jemmott


Born in New York, Tom Jemmott started playing guitar at the age of 10 after hearing the Beatles. He later discovered jazz and opened shows for such jazz greats as Branford Marsalis, Yellowjackets, Spyro Gyra. In 1994, Tom won “Best Jazz Band in Tampa Bay” and began performing concerts with legendary jazz cornetist, Nat Adderly.

Today Tom writes music for film and television with recent credits on FOX’s American Idol, ABC’s prime time game show, Downfall and A&E’s prison drama, The Squad. He has composed the score to many films including the teen comedy feature, 3 Times a Charm. His score for Thirst was nominated for “Best Original Score” at the Pan Pacific Film Festival 2011 in Los Angeles, and his latest film project is an old-school teen horror/slasher flick called Bloody Homecoming.

Tom has also written advertising spots for ESURANCE, Disney’s Tim Burton film Alice in Wonderland, Honda, Microsoft, Sleepy’s and many others. He recently composed the intro to the heavy rock band Shinedown’s 2011 live show and it appears on their live CD/DVD, Somewhere In The Stratosphere. Tom’s music has appeared in TV commercials, video games, movie trailers and feature films.

Along with composing for film and other studio work, Tom continues a busy live performance schedule with his own group and various other bands.
